چکیده

J. Econ. Enlomol. 79: 1613-1616 (1986) ABSTRACT Blattella germanica (L.) males succumbed to two consecutive sublethal doses of hydramethylnon (an amidinohydrazone) spaced up to 6 days apart. The same effect was not observed with a carbamate (propoxur) or organophosphate (chlorpyrifos) insecticide. Radiotracer analysis revealed presence of HCresidues inside cockroaches for at least 21 days following topical application with I·C-labeled hydramethylnon. A direct relationship between temperature and hydramethylnon toxicity was observed. Cockroaches unaffected by hydramethylnon at 16°C died when temperature was increased to 28"C 3 days later, but moribund individuals recovered when temperature was lowered from 28 to 16°Cfor 10 or more days.

Toxicity of Abamectin and Hydramethylnon to Insecticide-susceptible and Resistant Strains of German Cockroach (dictyoptera: Blattellidae),

The toxicities of two new insecticides, hydramet.hylnon and abamectin, were evaluated against one susceptible and seven insecticide-resistant strains of 81attella gennanica. (L.) Both materials proved to be potent insecticides against the susceptible strain. There was no difference in toxicity, based on LTfoO values, of hydramethylnon between resistant and susceptible strains in a feeding bioas...

Assessing the Susceptibility Status of Cypermethrin resistance in German Cockroaches (Blattella germanica: Blattellidae) to Hydramethylnon Gel Bait

Background: The German cockroach (Blatella germanica) is one of the most important vectors of public health interest due to its involvement in the transmission of infectious diseases. Different insecticides are used to control cockroaches; however, resistance developed against most of insecticides has made them ineffective. Attempts should always be made to find proper alternat...

Effect of Fipronil on Bait Formulation-Based Aversion in the German Cockroach (Dictyoptera: Blattellidae)

We examined the effects of 3 active ingredients in baits containing glucose on a behaviorally resistant (glucose-averse, T-164) strain of Blattella germanica L. Baits with glucose and hydramethylnon or chlorpyrifos killed few T-164 individuals; however, ÞpronilÐglucose baits killed 60% of the cockroaches by day 14. Although ingestion levels were low, ÞpronilÐglucose baits were consumed more tha...

Hydramethylnon uptake by Blattella germanica (Orthoptera: Blattellidae) by coprophagy.

Blattella germanica (L.) that were fed hydramethylnon bait produced residues that were toxic to exposed conspecifics. Insecticidal activity was traced to the feces of treated insects by feeding radiolabeled material, where approximately 50% of the recovered radioactivity was unmetabolized parent compound. Ingestion of toxicant-laden feces by all life stages was evident, but the effect of this b...

Sulfluramid resistance and vapor toxicity in field-collected German cockroaches (Dictyoptera: Blattellidae).

The toxicities of Raid Max Roach Bait (sulfluramid) and COMBAT Roach Control System (hydramethylnon) to susceptible and field-collected German cockroaches were examined. In all field-collected strains, a variable fraction of the population exhibited tolerance to Raid Max. In some strains, few males were killed in the first 5 d of exposure to Raid Max and some lived for up to 123 d when provided...
